Australasian University Safety Association

Integrated Wireless (IW) recently attended the Australasian University Safety Association (AUSA) Conference held at the prestigious University of Melbourne in Parkville, Victoria.

This conference drew a very niche delegate group, all reigning from the OH&S/Facilities/Security Management Departments of their respective Universities. Topics included:
  • OHS Management Systems & Case Studies
  • Radiation
  • Hazard and Risk Management
  • Mental Health
  • Integrated Systems and Programs
  • Research and Practice, and
  • International Reports
Sales Exec Luke Boicos at AUSA
Speakers from all over Australia and New Zealand shared their stories, with conversation flowing well into the night with dinner, a tour of the MCG and a speech from Ex AFL legend David Parkin. We thank all those, both existing customers and fresh faces, for dropping by for a chat.

With security at the core of our business, IW presented a variety of solutions over the 3-day event. These ranged from mass communication solutions leading to lock down and evacuation, to personal duress for teachers at risk and those students in laboratories alone at night. Given recent situations in the US, student and staff safety is fast becoming a focal point in Australasia and will increasingly weigh into family decisions when deciding where a student should enroll.
