Infant Abduction in Auckland

According to The Aucklander, an 11-day-old baby was snatched from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Auckland Hospital just under 2 weeks ago. The Police sent out a public alert for any information regarding the baby the night of the abduction, with a tip-off from a member of the public coming the following morning.

"Jacob has been found along with his mother. The baby was alive and well when police officers arrived," said Northern Police Communications spokesman Inspector Peter Raynes. The investigation team are assessing whether to press charges.

Student Security Linked To Academic Results

Any school/university reputation relies heavily on student results which are averaged out and compared to others in the region. A literature review completed by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development states that one main factor contributing to the results obtained by these students is “well-being in terms of physical comfort, health, and sense of safety”. This was evident at the recent Campus and Student Security Conference held at the Melbourne Marriott. This event attracted security and facility management staff from many different educational facilities throughout Australia, speaking on a wide variety of topics centred around student safety.

The Age of Technology

Technology in a healthcare setting is becoming paramount as time prevails. Whilst some hospitals are still relying on ageing communication methods, most are coming to terms with the fact that technology can dramatically increase work flows in their facilities and are actively seeking more information.

One avenue for this information is the Australian Healthcare Week which was held at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney this week. This event consisted of 3 separate conferences:
